Digital Video The digital video equipment we use is unique. First, the system digitally records video from all cameras on the system directly on to a hard drive... no more tapes. Secondly, both the live camera images and the recorded video can be accessed from anywhere by authorized users through the use of a high speed Internet connection. This digital video equipment is manufactured by the global leader in the network video industry. The specific configuration of each system is custom designed to adequately cover the size and layout of the facility, so the number and types of cameras will vary with each installation. The cameras can receive their power from electrical outlets or the system can be structured to allow the cameras to receive their power over the data cabling that ties them into the main computer. The power over data cabling design can eliminate a costly wiring bill and will allow the digital video and interactive electronic door control systems to continue to be operational during brief power outages. The cameras that comprise the system are connected over network data cabling to a network switch. The network switch ties the cameras into the System Server Computer that acts as the Digital Video Server and Recorder as well as running the Interactive Electronic Entry Control System. This main System Server Computer also runs the Membership Management System software. The network switch is also connected to an Internet Router that stores the configuration information to allow remote access by authorized users to the live video from all cameras as well as access to the recorded video on the System Server Computer. Remote access to the Membership Management Module is also provided. The router will need to be connected to either a Cable Modem or DSL Modem provided by your Internet Service Provider. Some type of high speed Internet connection is required. In addition to providing remote access to live video and recorded events, automatic email reporting and access to membership information and log files, a high speed Internet connection also allows us to provide remote support and regular software updates. |
